Selection Process
The TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) selection process typically involves the following stages:
Group I:
- Preliminary Examination: This is a screening test with objective-type questions, Covering General Studies, Aptitude and Mental Ability. Candidates need to qualify this stage to proceed to the next.
- Main Examination: A descriptive exam includes Compulsory Tamil Language and General Studies. Candidates who pass the main exam are shortlisted for the next round.
- Personality Test: This is the final stage where selected candidates are interviewed to assess their personality, knowledge, and suitability for the role.
Group II & IIA:
- Preliminary Examination: This screening test consists of objective-type questions covering Aptitude and Reasoning Language (either General Tamil or General English), and General Studies. Candidates must qualify at this stage to advance to the next round.
- Main Examination: A descriptive exam includes Compulsory Tamil Language and General Studies. Candidates who pass the main exam are shortlisted for the next round.
Group IV:
- Examination: A descriptive exam includes Compulsory Tamil Language ,General Studies, Aptitude and Reasoning . Candidates who pass the main exam are shortlisted for the next round.
